Carbon Credits

The standing forest
counts for the climate.

Through low-impact management and the fight against deforestation, Manoa's REDD+ project avoids emissions and generates traceable, certified carbon credits — turning the preserved forest into value for the planet.

Verification

Certified and auditable carbon.

The project is registered and verified by recognized international standards, ensuring that each credit represents real, measurable and permanent carbon.

Verified Carbon Standard

VCS · Verra — the world's most widely used carbon standard. Manoa project in the Verra registry (VCS 1571).

SD VISta

Sustainable Development Verified Impact Standard — attests to the project's social and environmental benefits.

Climate, Community & Biodiversity

CCB · Verra — certifies the project's benefits for the climate, local communities and biodiversity, reinforcing its contribution to the UN SDGs.

The programme

What REDD+ is.

REDD+ is an incentive created by the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to reward developing countries for reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation.

The programme values the conservation of the forest's carbon stocks, sustainable management and the increase of those stocks — exactly what Manoa does across its 74 thousand hectares, of which 69 thousand are legal reserve divided into 30 Annual Production Units.

Besides avoiding emissions, each standing hectare keeps capturing CO₂ through photosynthesis and giving back oxygen — the living forest acting as a lung of the climate.

Carbon market

Trading the credits.

The credits generated by Manoa's REDD+ project connect those who preserve the forest with those who need to offset emissions — generating environmental, social and economic value.

Buyer companies

Companies such as GT Building purchase the project's credits to offset their own emissions, integrating sustainability into their operations.

Local communities

The funds generate social benefits — support for education and sanitation — strengthening the communities of Cujubim (RO).

Institutions and certifications

FSC certification ensures responsible forest management, and the project is aligned with the UN SDGs.

How it works

From the preserved forest to the credit.

Preservation and monitoring

Manoa preserves large areas of the Amazon, avoiding deforestation and keeping carbon stored in the standing forest.

Credit generation

The avoided carbon is quantified and validated according to international standards, generating auditable carbon credits.

Sale of the credits

The credits are purchased by companies seeking to offset their emissions — such as GT Building — on the path to carbon neutrality.

Socio-environmental impact

The funds finance conservation, education and sustainable management — benefiting fauna, flora and the communities of Cujubim.

In short, the partnerships in the Manoa REDD+ Project form a value chain in which preserving the forest generates economic, social and environmental benefits — connecting conservation, the carbon market and local development.

Offset your carbon footprint with Manoa — and help keep the Amazon standing.
